Susan and I have just returned from a productive and wonderful week in Italy. The purpose of our trip was to attend the European summit of the International Network of Boutique Law Firms (INBLF), of which I am a Board member as well as national secretary and president of the DC Chapter. In addition to the formal program, which focused on the continuing development of specialized practice groups within the network and prepared for the Los Angeles annual meeting in October, there were many opportunities for informal networking, in magnificent settings as varied as the terrace of the Duomo, a bocci court, and a garden of a villa on Lake Como. We have come to treasure this time with our colleagues, both with those we now know well and with newcomers to the group. From Milan we did a brief jaunt to Bologna and Ravenna to soak up some more history and art and of course eat more pasta and gelato.
